How have you been able to navigate your career as a Black woman in Britain?

What is one of the biggest challenges you've faced in your life or career and how did you overcome it?

I would say I've had to overcome lack of confidence and have had to force myself out of my comfort zone.

Do you have any practical tips for girls/women interested in pursuing a career in your particular field?

Go for it. Media is a great career. But it's important to try and build up different revenue streams (aka get a side hustle) - make it something you enjoy in addition to your day job/career. Try and save early on and get your foot on the property ladder. It doesn't have to be London but it is possible with focus and determination. Think about the life you want to lead and how you want to lead it and work towards that. Finally try and think about how you can work for yourself or be your own boss instead of a cog in the wheel.

What's the best piece of advice you've ever received?

You would make a good journalist - secondary school English teacher

Our future starts now - with your experiences and everything you now know - what would you tell your future self?

Don't wait for opportunities to come along, go out and seize them. Be focused, have a plan. You must have a plan. Also not everything is about what you like to do. Liking a job/aspects of your job is a bonus. Some (not so fun) things may be a stepping stone to your career or a job with better financial reward.
